making paper beads

TIP: don't try making these if your cat is in the room...it's a race to finish trying to keep him from eating the paper. I didn't get this right the first few times I tried...it looks so simple and yet!! I ended up going to another video on making paper beads and they used bamboo skewers to wrap the paper. That made a world of difference. I made these earrings with my successful paper beads ...paper is from torn pages of Twilight. I bought a used copy at the library book sale for $2...i know..i paid too much. Now I'm trying to recoup my loses and sell it off piece by piece in art work (which is the only way that book will ever be considered art...but hey, i'm just a jealous failed writer so what do I know).

this is a work I did on a piece of cardboard. I love playing on cardboard. It's cheap (usually free). On this piece I was practicing creating textures with plaster and using stencils. I like parts of it...not sure I'm a fan of the area in the lower left where I was playing with foil.
